About Me

Cindy successfully transitioned from the classroom first as a manager in a nonprofit startup and then took on a leadership role as a literacy coach.
Through this journey, Cindy discovered she is effective at building relationships and designing a product to meet the needs of her clients. She promotes the mission and connected with the community. Cindy successfully develops programs, organizes events, ensures they run smoothly and that they meet the needs of her clients. Her projects are always on schedule and on budget. She stays focused on the big picture and sets long term goals. Cindy constantly strives to do better and to learn from every situation. She discovered she has extensive insight into the education field. After spending 25+ years in the classroom, she is able to connect with teachers and administrators and develop effective strategies to accomplish their district goals while empowering teacher voices.

Cindy is a well-respected education leader with 30 years of experience in professional development planning, presenting, and developing, implementing education programs and providing leadership. She is passionate about making a difference in the lives of teachers and students across the country. She possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. She maintains a solid record of performance in increasingly responsible roles and positions. Cindy is organized, motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic.

Cindy is currently the Outreach Manager at the Edcamp Foundation. She works with teachers across the country on programs such as the District Initiative, Edcamp Encore, PBS Edcamps, and Fee for Service. She trains educators to become Edcamp Specialists. This empowers them to learn what they want to learn, to share best practices with other educators all to make a bigger impact in their classrooms. She has trained over 200 educators in the past 11 months, either in person or through webinars, or virtual meetings. She is tech savvy and has recorded tutorials for her programs on YouTube and other social media platforms. Her years in the classroom help her craft professional development that meets the needs of each of her clients.

Cindy was named a New Jersey State Teacher of the Year Finalist, Cape May County Teacher of the Year and the Dennis Township District Teacher of the year. She taught English Language Arts in Dennis Township where she has taught every grade from k-8. Cindy believes that education changed her life and strives to be the kind of teacher that changes the lives of others. She is always looking for ways to keep her students interest and is always learning right along side of her students.Cindy incorporated Passion Projects/ Project Based Learning into her curriculum. She empowered students to have a positive impact on their community, problem solve and leave a legacy long after they graduated. She is a technology enthusiast and was featured in the September issue of NJEA Review, “The Paperless Chase” an article about how she achieved a paperless classroom. She is co-founder and organizer of Edcamp South Jersey. Their annual unconference has recently joined forces with Stockton University and will be held in September. She helped run the first Edcamp at NNSTOY, and organized and presented at Edcamp Leadership at University of Pennsylvania.

She enjoys presenting at education conferences. Cindy presents annually at NJEA Convention in the Edmodo Theater on topics such as, “Edmodo for Newbies”, “100+ Ways to Use Edmodo”, and “What is New in Edmodo”. She also helps school districts across New Jersey with the implementation of Edmodo. Cindy presents at professional development days in her district on Google Classroom, Edmodo, Paperless classrooms, passion projects, how to incorporate technology into instruction, how to use Chromebooks and how to use our school dashboard. She also attends and leads discussions at Edcamps across the state. She recently was invited to attend Edcamp Leadership Summit in New Jersey. She presented at ECET2 in Princeton on passion projects she and her students developed to leave a legacy on their district and to leave a positive impact on their community.

Cindy is an Edmodo Support Ambassador and Certified Trainer. She is a member of New Jersey County Teachers of the Year and the National Network of State Teachers of the Year. In her district, she has served as the districts’ Writing Coach, Chairman of the Curriculum and Professional Development Committee, and served on the Inclusion Team and Pride Committee. She has been a mentor to numerous teachers and student teachers. She serves as an interview coach to former students who are seeking employment in the education field. Cindy has coached basketball, softball, and volleyball. In the community, she served on the Dennis Township Environmental Commission and is serving on the Cape May County Committee. She received my B.A. from Rowan University.
